I’d just like to take a little time today to say goodbye to a little friend we’ve known over cyberspace.

Miss Sherbet April O7- Feb 15th 08

Just like it took her owner Adrienne by surprise, it took me by surprise too. Miss Sherbet was a beautiful little girl who captured our hearts with this picture.

We didn’t even have to meet her in person to feel her sweetness and charm; Adrienne did a great job taking all those pictures of her and Mr. Hammi Pants.

I was praying very hard yesterday night hoping that she’ll be ok. But when I woke up this morning, I decided to check on how she’s doing. Although I’ve hardly gone online during the mornings in weekends, since it’s Millie and Mollie’s day out, Little Miss Sherbet was on my mind.

Her story shocked me and it hit me hard. I guess it was too much a surprise for everyone of us. All I can say now is at least she’s not suffering anymore, and I hope she’s doing well in Hammie Heaven. You can see more of Little Miss Sherbet’s pictures here, and her memoriam here.

Keep well, Adrienne! We’ll all miss her! Hugs to you, HP and Squishi too!

Boo has left yesterday afternoon.

Just a week ago, I asked myself, will Boo survive for Christmas? He’s getting old and frail and although he eats fine, we all could tell he’s lived pass his lifespan. For some selfish reason, I told him everyday that he has to wait until Christmas is over, because I’ve bought him something for Christmas.

Boo was a silly ham; he was not as active as his brother Hamtaro, and seemed a little ‘blur’ at times. But he was very likeable and you could hold him in your hands for awhile before he tried to scurry away. Because he was a little on the round side in his younger days, he looked a little like a giant dwarf hamster. So I called him Boo, after the famous Miniature Giant Space Hamster Minsc has.

Boo is on the right.On Christmas Eve, I gave Boo and Creamer their present. It’s a little wafer stick with Banana flavored cream. I thought Boo did not make it, but then he was breathing ever so slowly, and when I put the bit of wafer stick down for him, he actually sat up and started eating.

Of course he’s done what I asked for, which was to wait until Christmas. And he got his Christmas present. And then he just left peacefully in his sleep, just like I would wish for him.

Creamer is now all alone and I miss all the hams… But I’m sure Hammie Heaven is a beautiful place full of seeds and all.

Juwellen likes to lie down and have her food. Like this.

She does that for breakfast, lunch and dinner – lest for broccoli treats.

I used to think that’s real cute. Now I wish I didn’t think so.

Yesterday night, I was preparing to go to bed and had to take the hammies into the room. So I moved Creamer and Juwellen together, and then i noticed Juwellen was lying down flat on her tummy. I did as I always did, just blow on her. She had a bad habit of sleeping very soundly – and I could never tell if she was ok. So I always blow on her.

I saw she was still breathing, but she didn’t turn around like she usually did. So I picked her up and saw that she had some difficulty breathing. I lay her on her back and she did these little ‘kof kof kof’ noises. She moved her little hand and tried to push some of the seeds out of her mouth.

I realized she was having something stuck in her throat or cheek sacs. So I tried to help her. give her a little water – which she drank – and tried to help her loosen up her cheek sacs. I even tapped her back a bit in hopes of getting her to cough out whatever was in her throat. But it all didn’t work. She was still coughing with every breath.

I took her out and put her in my palm with a little piece of tissue. She kinda wagged her tail abit. I dunno whether she was happy or just uncomfortable. I’ve tried putting her on her side and on her back, but nothing helped. And eventually, she gave a little stretch, like a little yawn, brought her little hands up above her head and all the way down.

And then she stopped moving.

Juwellen must be having loads of fun with her sister Bijoux and friend Hamtaro now. At least I got to hold her~

I have so much to say and so many things to talk about. But Bijoux left early this morning, probably an hour or two before I woke up. She’s not been well the last two days, but she still ate a lot and drank her water. So I thought she would get well. But she didn’t…Bijoux really looked like she was just sleeping, and I was hoping she would wake up while I moved her cage out to the hall. I knew she wouldn’t, and she didn’t but I wouldn’t want to believe it. She’s my garang little girl, the female version of my Hamtaro.She looks so serene though, lying on the origami flower i made her. Maybe she’s met with Hamtaro now and having loads of fun eating sunflower seeds and running on wheels…

Kirby’s pictures had been favorited by myself many a times. He’s handsome and even though I’ve not met him in person, I know he’s a sweet cat – his eyes always told me so.

I thought it would be most appropriate to remember him, and dedicate a little spot here on the blog for this kitty sadly missed.

Hamtaro gave me the opportunity to take a cute picture of him yesterday.
And i didn’t know it would be the last.Hamtaro left us in the evening, possibly after an accidental fight. We don’t know. But I know I didn’t prepare to see him go like that, and I wished I was around.My dear Hamtaro is now sadly missed by his brother Boo, whom he had lived with since birth. Boo was sitting around in the corner looking very lonely. Maybe he didn’t even know what happened.
