Morinaga Well Cookie

The store owner asked ‘Have you tried this?’.

‘Why, no I haven’t actually.’

‘It’s very popular, I have no idea why. I’ve been re-stocking this again and again.’ she responded in quite an exasperated tone.

‘Hmm… Ok let me try one. I never thought of getting this because it’s got chocolate biscuits.’ Ayu picks up a box and put it into the shopping basket.

The box yells ‘WELL’ at you. It’s either saying ‘well, are you going to eat me or not?’ or ‘get WELL!’ or ‘Well well well….’ depending on your mood that day I guess. The cookies are individually packed in yellow or brown, depending on the flavor. The Lemons are on the left and the Chocs are on the right. Like this

There’s nothing cute about these. No cartoons on the box. No printed images on the biscuits. Nothing vaguely adorable on the individual packages. In fact, my first impression was ‘Hmm, these biscuits are very neat.’ (Read: I have been doing my research and feverishly looking for loopholes, therefore the almost nutzoid idea) But anyways. They do inform you that they are ‘The New Standard Biscuit’.

Within each pack you will find delicious cookies with delectable cream sandwiched in between. The chocolate has vanilla-flavored cream, while the yellow-buttery biscuit has lemon-flavored. I was so glad the chocolate wasn’t actually too sweet; in fact it was hinging towards bitter chocolates.

So… get WELL with these biscuits They are good!

After Taste: I can’t really eat much of these but they aren’t exactly sweet, so I guess if I really wanted to I can finish the whole box in a sitting, perhaps.

Funny: I have to tell you about my girls. They are really funny. The youngest girl Mollie likes to sleep in the strangest positions. And on saturday, she found this very comfortable to do in the car.

Millie is taunting me because I couldn’t keep her away from the mud.

Mang, is a Queen so she rarely gets caught being funny. However, she can read. Here, she’s done with a book I’m supposed to finish.

Skin: Suddenly this reminds me of Roald Dahl’s tale – but no this is no horror story and has nothing to do with tattoos. I went to the National Skin Center yesterday and had a LOAD of creams to use. It might last me for a year. It might not. Depending on whether the ezcema clears up properly this time. My original doctor is good, but going to a government center (which is tedious) might be cheaper in the long run – I hope. Anyways, the doctor was telling me not to touch soap, carpets, dust, grass, mud, dirt, etc I concluded that I can’t do much housework (hehehe) and I’m sitting here wondering what I can touch.

Distracting: I don’t know if this game is distracting because of the random animals that pop up and attempt to ruin your game, or the game is distracting me from work. But it’s a fun game and totally mindless. Courtesy of a friend of course. hehe. Have a go at this Distracting Game.

From top: Meiji’s Waffu in Almond, Macadamia and Hazelnut. The nuts are presented in different forms, combining with Sesame Seeds, Chocolate and Brown Sugar, and Green Tea respectively.

Confectionery Crazy: I don’t know if I have told you. I like to eat biscuits and confectionery. Especially Japanese confectionery. I remember I used to get one or two every weekend when my parents brought us to the supermarket to do grocery shopping.

So last weekend I had my fair share of additional stock to my depleting stash of ‘biscuits’ – as I liked to call them.

One of my favorites would be Fran. And these are those I’ve finished.

As you can see most of these boxes are empty. (I’m now kicking myself for not keeping the Blueberry Fran box I had sometime ago.) So there needs to be more Fran in the house.

I was introduced to Fran in 2001 by a Japanese friend of mine. He told me all about this Fran factory in Japan and how popular this, how it revived Meiji’s business etc… By the time he finished, I had all the flavors of the original Frans in my shopping basket. And Fran has been my friend ever since. If you would like to know, I loved the Fran Blueberry one (which as I said is not pictured anywhere here because I had gotten rid of the box) and the Fran Extra: Strawberry. The Green Tea and the Rum & Vanilla ones are a close second. All the other Frans are third.

Dippy is very VERY nice. I eat YanYan from time to time, but Dippy is getting me addicted. In fact i finished 2 before these 2 came along. I had to get these to fill the emptiness. The chocolate one has wheat biscuits, and the strawberry one has chocolate biscuits. The dips are not too sweet, and have bits of chocolate or fruit grain in them respectively. This is a little more expensive than the usual YanYan I think but it’s definitely worth the moolah.

The Dream Theater Range is interesting. I was quite annoyed there was no Belle. And I was wondering if they were normal biscuits. (OK I was blinded by Aromatizer Fran and didn’t see how the Snow White one had a little ‘りんご’ flavor labeled.) I bought only the Snow White one first. The one in the picture is a second box. Because I finished the first.

HAHA. More reviews to come as I go along.

Reading: I need to read Boyd… I need to.. READ. – I will after this. I promise to read half the book today at least.

Leo: Time to do the sleevecaps! w00t!

Mosquitos: I think the lone mosquito I was so paranoid about died. I have been fumigating the study whenever I can. Good riddance. That doesn’t mean I’ve stopped being paranoid because I still am. So I’ve been diligent getting all the precautions done (like getting repellents of all sorts).

Weekend: We had a lot to eat over the weekend. AS requested for some nice seafood pasta so I prepped it in the afternoon. Then finished with boiling the pasta and sauce when we got back in the evening. He got me Krispy Kreme!

Ok we shared~~ but it was great!

I had prepared breakfast for the next day and day after as well. But we had so much to eat! And dinner on saturday at the ‘rents for d’s bday so we also packed some food back. Now my fridge is filled to the brim with food.

Strange: It’s nice – yet strange – to have someone else in the house though. Maybe it’s because I’ve been doing things on my own for awhile now. And after all, he’s going to have to leave again soon so I shouldn’t be expecting too much from him right? Still, it’s good.

I guess I also expected to anticipate the end of september more with his visit. And it’s true. Now I’m more fervently counting down the days.

Leo: As a result, I didn’t get to do much on the Leo except on the way to the Airport on Friday. But at least i’m at the sleeves now. Think it’s about 3 inches.

Weather: I have to say it’s a nice weather today. Cool and windy.

Transformation: I am going to discuss transformation and revolution… and then I started thinking about evolution and innovation. This is driving me nuts. Everything is interlinked. I have to find a way to write everything out so that people can understand it. Bleah. I never thought it would be difficult because of expertise.
