Puru Puccho Gummy Stick (Grape)

Another round of Candy Tuesday finally! Actually I’ve already bought a number of subjects to test out but I just haven’t really gotten round to it. Blame it on the work.

Anyways This is from Puccho and I’m so glad to have found it here. It was previously unavailable in the country and we could only get it elsewhere. Lo and behold, I not only can buy these in school now, but I can get them just downstairs too! w00t!!

Ok first things first. I liked the other one with the yoghurt better. But if you look at the smiley faces of the grapes going can you resist? I certainly can’t.

The same chewy gummy embedded in the same sticky hi-chew like candy. This was great! The grape flavors were just enough and never overwhelming with the gummy in there.

However, I still felt that it’s not as tasty as the one with the yoghurt. True, it’s good. But the other one is better. Considering that the yoghurt one is a special edition after all, this isn’t actually bad. so it’s definitely worth a try even so. And for those of you right here on this sunny sunny island, head out and check out these candy. They are definitely worth it.

Puccho Gummy Stick – Melon Soda (ぷつちよ　ガミ)

I first saw this on the UHA’s Puccho website. There were two flavors (cola and melon soda) available at the store downstairs and I got them both to try out.

The first one I decided to try was this: the Melon Soda Gummy.

I had doubts about this. I never had Melon Soda in my life. So what is this supposed to taste like? Melon-y with Soda fizz? Soda-flavored Melon? Melon-flavored soda? Anyways, one will never find out without trying right?

Despite the name ‘Gummy Stick’, it just refers to the container. The gummies are really drops. They are a nice translucent white, reminding me very much of Ice-Cream Soda drinks.

They taste like Ice-Cream Soda too. With a hint of a fruit flavor somewhere. But if you didn’t tell me it’s supposed to be ‘Melon Soda’ I would never know what it is. They taste just like… candy, I guess. The texture is just nice though, but I find them too small to chew on much.

I suppose this is more popular that I would think they are because the shop’s just ran all out of them. Hmm, I think if I really needed to get gummies and I am far from everywhere else, these might satiate me for awhile but that’s about all…

Gelee in Gummy – Green Apple

Another of Meiji’s gummy range. This Gelee in Gummy range boasts two flavors (Green Apple and Plum) and a nice sticker at the back to help you reseal your packet if you can’t finish them.

The candy is very sour (for me – and my tolerance is quite low despite the fact that I love them gummies). However, I don’t feel like the apple flavors punched. AND, there was no ‘gelee’ in the gummy. Or is mine playing tricks on me?

The texture of the gummy is good though and meets my standards. (And I would remind that I really am picky about gummy textures) So that’s points for this gummy! Plus the stickers, I would probably buy these again because they are readily available at the store near my home. But I don’t think I will have a craving for it like I do for Qun.

After Taste: I guess I’m still looking for the ‘gelee’ in the candy. But otherwise it’s not bad.

Shuuwa Puccho Candy (Coke)  しゆわ　ぷつちよ　（コーラ）

This candy is similar to the Shiima Puccho Candy (Grape) which you might have seen two weeks ago here.

Cola-flavored candies (including my favorite gummies) aren’t my favorites I must say. I think it’s really because I feel the overdose much earlier than other flavors. The Shuuwa Puccho cola is the same. I’m finishing it up slower than the grape one.

However, I really must say, this candy is all the more interesting. It’s got the sticky parts like Hi-Chew, it’s got the gummy drops just like the grape one, AND to top it off, it’s got little bits of cola fizz too! So that’s like three different sensations of cola flavor at once.

There’s another review of the same candy here. It’s a great review and even tells you where you can get this candy online! So if you’re a fan of cola-flavored stuff, give it a shot! I guarantee you’d be just as pleased.

Qun Gummy Candy (Grape and Soda)

Ok This small pack of candy is really intriguing. It’s very small, and ‘cute’ in a way the package is. Then it claims to have juice in it and be sour at the same time. I never bought this because, even though I absolutely LOVE them, I am very picky about how chewy these things should be, how sour and so on. I hate disappointments. Anyways, I got this bunch of Meiji stuff from Lois last friday (more about that tomorrow). And she really made a good recommendation. hehehe

Now this pack has a little sticker provided in case you do not finish up your gummy.

If that’s the case, please remove the sticker and use it to tape the pack temporarily. You also get your fortune for the day when you remove the sticker. As you can see, the Qun deity says I’m ‘only slightly fortunate’ today.

Now I’m not exaggerating but these are heavenly! They are sour, chewy, and just nice! I had no use for the sticker because I finished these in one sitting. There’s a slight fizziness when you put the candy in your mouth. I have no idea if it’s the sourness playing a trick on my mind or the word ’soda’, but I’m glad to say, the mix was just nice. The gummy part of the candy isn’t sticky, and a little bit of chewing (or a really hard bite) releases the liquid-y grape stuff in the candy. That liquid-y stuff is also a little sour, but not too much, and doesn’t spoil the taste of the gummy at all.

In no time, all I had left was the packaging. I need more of this!!!

Well Ok I think I shouldn’t be eating so much candy but if I want to talk about it, so I will.

Shiima Puccho Candy (Grape) しーま　ぷつちよ　（ぶどう）

I got this (with some other candy) awhile ago but never gotten down to actually eating it. why? Because Cindy got it from HK and I foresee myself liking it and being in a withdrawal when I finish it. I finally opened this on sunday evening and by yesterday (which is monday) I was down to 2 candies. There won’t be more today, I reckon.

The candy has the same sticky texture like Hi-Chew (which I also like. Ahem) and is supposed to be ’striped’ with milk and grape flavors. I honestly couldn’t tell the difference when it’s popped into the mouth. Embedded in the stickiness are little beads of very chewy gummy – that added great texture to the sticky! I soon developed a habit of separating the gummy from the sticky parts and leave them to chew on at the last bit. This game definitely made the candy last a tad longer. I seem to have eaten this before sometime ago but I really cannot recall how/where/when I bought it. Pardon the picture – I was a little too excited about it, and was forbing off Millie who was trying to sniff it.

All in all, I would definitely by this again. Grapes are often the next best choice (other than Strawberry or any other berries) and these really taste great! More!
