Maldives Day 4 and End Thoughts

For four mornings, we were greeted by the beautiful dawn and the cyan blue seas. I admit this trip has been unexpected in many senses. We didn’t exactly plan for this trip, and AS simply texted me one afternoon to say ‘Shall we go for a trip in September?’ We also didn’t really know where to go. There were so many places shortlisted, from Bhutan to Egypt, Tibet to Russia. When we met to go to the travel agency, AS said ‘You know, my friend was telling me about Maldives. He said it’s really nice.’
I said I heard of its beauty too but I’m not sure what we’d do there.
As if it was a huge hint (a very big one), a large poster greeted us when we entered the travel agency. It had the bluest seas and charming huts out at sea, and it coaxed us with the word ‘Maldives’. We still asked about all our other destinations. But I think we both decided, independently, eventually and secretly, that we wanted a relaxing trip.
On day four of our trip, we were set out to enjoy the beach, the sun, the pool and the sea breeze. It was an entire day of relaxation since we were only set to leave at night. I think it had been a wonderful four days, and it had been a good break for both of us. Although we still had the same thoughts about work and all, I’m glad it was a vacation. I suppose everyone of us would need to unwind once in awhile.

I’m also happy to have so many more beautiful memories the two of us share. I think, sometimes we each get so caught up with our own work, and weekends become so routine, that we live each day like clockwork. Sure there are the little things that we know, appreciate and remember, but once in awhile, it’s always nice to have something new
We will definitely remember the swim with the Manta. And in addition to it, the coral reefs and the colorful fish for me. We’ll remember the dolphins we saw, as they moved through the waves in the morning sea.
We will never forget how I fed the fish all evening during fishing, how AS caught a little fish, and how I *almost* caught a tuna. These amusing things we save as stories now for the three Ms and next time who knows.
We will always remember the beautiful sunrise and sunset and the bright fullmoon. And of course, we will never forget being surrounded by the bright evening stars, with nothing around us but the darkness and the soft sounds of the waves in the background.

I would really love to return to this paradise and live again so close to nature, within the beauty of God’s work. Yet, there are still so many places we want to see together and the list is getting longer and longer. So although soon is nice, I really have no idea when we could be back again.

Back home, we looked through our pictures over and over again. So many of them are so beautiful, yet we were glad that we had the opportunity to experience it and live it. This picture eventually became a favorite of ours.
