Roar

I know our national icon is the merlion, and apparently Sang Nila Utama (or his men) saw a lion here. Anyways my point in today’s post is that thre’s this kid on the MRT yesterday. It first arrived in a pram and a fairly large one too. Once the MRT doors opened, the kid was roaring away in the pram, like a little animal.

Ok not really roaring but making those little lion cub sounds that go RARRRR! RARRR!! RARRR!!! RARRR!!

Well. Within a minute of settling down, kid still in a pram, the mother started to say ‘quiet … quiet…’ in a very soft and nonchalant tone.

But the more she did that, the louder the kid became. And the irritating RARRRARRRARRRRR!!!! sound became REOW! REOW! REOW! REOW! – just like an animal!

The mum didn’t know what else she could do so she did the worse thing possible which was to unleash her kid to the carriage. And the kid ran all over the place screaming REOW! REOW! REOW!!!!!

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

They left in a few more stops but it was like eternity! I can’t imagine what the poor mother goes through on a daily basis~~ and at certain points, the kid really sounded so much like some alien creature that it was more scary than irritating!

sigh!
