Biscuit-y Vendredi – Choc Shock~!

Morinaga’s Koeda – Morning time~

This series of Koeda has two flavors. I only realized after I walked out of the store. But anyways, what I got myself was Morning Time. (and the other is of course, Evening Time). I guess it’s just referring to Dawn and Dusk but anyways.

Morning time’s package design caught my eyes immediately. There’s something about blue and white for me.

There are eight packages inside with two sticks of koeda in each.

As you can see from the box, Morning Time koeda is a berry and yoghurt flavored ‘chocolate’. I have no idea whether I should call it ‘chocolate’ because chocolate to me is the traditional brown-colored cocoa-flavored sweet. This tastes nothing like chocolate! (Could be also why I could actually finish this very quickly)

The white smooth creamy ‘yoghurt’ really complemented the berry flavors, and sometimes, when you get a bunch of berries or a huge piece (like in the picture), there’s a burst of berry tanginess that makes the koeda all the more palatable to an apprehensive chocolatier like me. Plus, like all other koeda, Morning Time has it’s own little bits of crunchiness in each stick. The ordinary koeda uses nuts for this sensation but Morning Koeda has little bits of rice crackers (like the kelloggs rice crackers with snap crackle and someone else) so while the crunchiness is not too much, it’s just enough for the thin stick of ‘chocolate’ like Koeda.

Give this a shot if you like chocolate, berries or just koeda~~ It’s quite refreshing!

After Taste: Like all chocolates I drink a LOT of water after eating them. But like all good and tasty chocolates, I do enjoy them quite a fair bit. I love the berries!
