annoying things: ‘Stop Banging on the Glass, you effing Nincompoop!’ says yours truly.
Ok I lied. I only said ‘EH! Stop Banging!’ This annoying thing has nothing to do with the usual MRT or departmental store.
As you all might have guessed, I love animals. It’s a little difficult to spread the love to birds though, although yes, I try. I do agree that they are beautiful creatures in everyway. I suppose this might have something to do with waking up to the sounds of nature every single fricking morning at 0530h. But I digress.
I was at the Night Safari yesterday, and was explaining to my friend about how flashes from the camera would spoil the eyesight of the animals in the long run. And since it’s so dark, it would be best that we don’t startle them with the bright lights. I related a tale of how inconsiderate people like to use the flash anyway and more annoyingly so, allow their kids to knock and bang against the glass panels of some exhibits. It’s times like these I wish i could put them in a glass box and have a bright light flashing right in front of their eyes every so often, punctuated with the deafening ruckus of knocking.
Fortunately, there was only one inconsiderate couple trying to take a picture of a leopard, and using the flash anyway. The rest of us were glaring at them, because they clearly did not understand English. And of course, our eyes were not as obvious and the flash that came from the camera. – The good thing was they left after two photos.
I have no idea if they were exhibiting their flash to the exhibits later on but I think I wouldn’t want to know.
Now today I went to the Bird Park (again) and we were in the Owl exhibit. It’s a really cool place and totally dark as well. The owls were very active today and you could just stand there in the darkness, and marvel at their beauty. Really.
about 2 enclosures down the exhibit, there were strange noises coming far off from the entrance. Twerps (i have no idea how old they were) were making ‘ghostly’ sounds and went ‘OOOOOOOooooooooo ooooooooooo ooooooooooooo’. I had a good mind to suddenly teleport in front of them and do my favorite impersonation of Sadako.
Anyways the ooooooooo-ing didn’t stop. And all of a sudden, I heard the familiar ‘doong Dooong Doong’ from one of the glass panels.’
I think i was already annoyed by the halloween noises that I just yelled ‘EH! STOP BANGING ON THE GLASS!’ – I think I startled my friend too.
But that’s ok. Unlike the couple at the Night Safari, they stopped.
And as usual, I like to ask ‘WHAT’s Wrong with these people?’
Exciting things: yesterday I received the package from one of my swaps and check out the cool stuff here! I also received some letters from P2 and they are really cute! And more importantly, AS has a surprise for me! (surprise surprise!)
In the end: Ok i have to tell you more tomorrow. Meanwhile have a picture.
